I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980 from the University of South Florida in the area of Fine Arts, with a concentration in Photography. In 1996, I graduated from Jacksonville University with a Master of Arts Degree in Education/ In December 2005, I graduated from the University of North Florida with a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. My cognate, or specialty area, was Instructional Technology. My research interests include how students and adults learn
with computer technology and the World Wide
Web.

My teaching philosophy includes a strong approach to constructivist learning theory. This philosophy guides students in the learning process while the building of knowledge is individual and self-directed. As students mature into productive citizens they must begin to seek out knowledge on their own, rather than being spoon-fed information. When students seek out knowledge, they are more likely to develop a love for learning, as well as the ability to seek and understand information relevant to the educational process. This approach develops
life long learners that value the educational
process.
