Lilo trip down the
Colo River NSW
The Colo River is in the Wollemi National
Park, North West of Sydney. It runs is a deep gorge and in the
summer is quite a popular trip on long weekends. Caoimhin
managed to persuade us to do it in a regular
2 day weekend, which made the days long, but the weather was great.

This was the upstream
view of the river after the long trek down into the gorge. To
do a trip like this you need to waterproof as much as you can
and since you spend all day in the water, there is a dress code
(fortunately you don't get to see the one behind the camera).

Caoimhin riding
a small rapid (is is a rapid?), they were fun when small but we
soon learnt that you have to walk around the larger type (there
is little stability on lilo's).

There were long
stretches of slower moving water too. Caoimhin demonstrates his
paddling techniques (this is before his lilo developed too many
holes).
