Darkness Came

Early morning, with a soft and silent sunrise
A fresh breeze, with wild flower fragrance
Smiles and caresses, what a surprise
And then darkness came, like ending a dance

Daytime chores flow like a breeze
First one then another, all easy and done
Colors all balance and bright to please
And then darkness came, crushing the sun

Evening meals prepared and dined upon
Courses complimented with wine and song
Pallet satisfied and comfort for everyone
And then darkness came, where do I belong

Resting from the day in my favorite chair
Relaxed while thoughts of the day abound
Wishing and dreaming, oh what a pair
And then darkness came, silent solace I found

Closing my eyes to live the dream of dreams
Smiling, with pleasures only I can feel
Drifting in my own field and streams
And then darkness came, it's real
