Liz walked down the hill away from Max. When she got to the bottom she
took a deep breath wiping away the tears that had fallen down her cheeks. She
slowly made her way to her car, climbed in and drove back towards Roswell.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I
don’t want to lose you
But
I don’t want to use you
Just
to have somebody by my side,
And
I don’t want hate you
And
I don’t want to take you ,
But
I don’t want to be the one to cry
And
I don’t really matter to anyone anymore
But
like a fool I keep losing my place
And
I keep seeing you walk through that door.
Liz slowly walked into her room and over to the wall pulling out the lose
brick and retrieving her journal. She climbed out on her balcony and sat down
opening her journal to the next clean page.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But
there’s a danger in loving somebody too much
And
it’s sad when you know it’s your heart you can’t trust,
There’s
a reason why people don’t stay where they are,
Baby
sometimes love just ain’t enough.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I did the hardest thing in my
life, I walked away from Max, the love of my life. It’s not because I stopped
loving him, that could never happen. It’s because I love him so much.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I
could never change you,
And
I don’t want to blame,
Baby
you don’t have to take the fall.
Yes
I may have hurt you,
But
I did not desert you,
Baby
I just want to have it all.
It
makes a sound like thunder,
It
makes me feel like a way
And
like a fool who will never see the truth
I
keep thinking something’s gonna change.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The
other night when Max told me that he loved me, I thought we could get through
anything, because we loved each other, and I knew we’d always have that, no
matter what. But today, listening to his mother tell him about his “destiny”
I realized how wrong I was.
I
will always love Max, I’ll never stop, but I know I did the right thing. I
just hope Max will understand that. I wanted to tell him, I wanted to tell him
so bad, that no matter what I would still love him, even when he’s with Tess
and he’s saving his planet, I’ll still love him. I just hope he knows that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And
there’s now way home
When
it’s late at night and you’re all alone
Are
there things that you wanted to say
And
do you feel me beside you in your bed,
There
beside you where I used to lay.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ll
never forget Max. He saved my life, in more ways than one. He taught me so much.
He taught me what it is to love someone so much that you would do anything for
them, no matter what the consequences for you are. The biggest thing Max Evans
taught me though is that, sometimes you can’t chose your destiny. I remember
we kept telling each other that you chose your own destiny, trying to make each other believe it, trying to stop the
inevitable from happening. No, sometimes you can’t chose you destiny,
sometimes it chooses you. Now Max will teach me one more thing, he’ll teach me
the hardest thing of all. He’ll teach me how to let go.
sometimes love just ain’t enough.
Liz slowly closed her journal and looked up into darkening sky. Her eyes
quickly found the V shape constellation. The five stars blurred in her vision
and it took her a moment to realize she was crying again. She quickly wiped away
the tears that were falling and looked back up. “Goodbye
Max” she whispered into the darkness around her. The stars started to blur
again, but this time Liz just let the tears fall not bothering to wipe them
away. She just kept staring at the five blurry stars, wondering what would have
been different if they had never found out about those five stars. ‘It’s
funny,’ she thought, ‘how the smallest of things, like five stars can change
you’re life so drastically.’
