Celica - Page Two
The Celica was repainted in 7/02, and it now looks about like it did when it rolled off a Japanese assembly line in January 1977. Not bad for a car that's nearly 26 years old.
My mechanic went over the brake system and replaced various components, and we also replaced a leaking fuel line and a rusted-out exhaust pipe. There are still some minor outstanding problems, as usual with older cars. There is a vacuum leak in the heater switch mechanism that causes an annoying hissing sound, and the car failed inspection because the fuel cap does not hold pressure. We're currently searching for a NOS or good used fuel cap. Overall, though, the car is now fully roadworthy and good-looking.
