Blitz Revisited New Years Eve 2008 At The Red Rooms, Covent Garden With original hosts Steve Strange (Visage) and Rosemary Turner. Steve Strange is holding one last New Years Eve party - ever - and you’re invited!! It all takes place at The Red Rooms (the newly listed building standing on the original site of the "Blitz" 4 Great Queen Street, Holborn, London WC2). Yes, the place that created so many of our iconic heroes, and urban legends that became part of club land history and popular culture will be your New Years Eve destination. This promises to be a party to end all parties and to give the new generation of 80s culture kids a much needed reminder of how it should be done! The reason for his departure from club land is very exciting indeed............ how could it be anything less with Steve Strange's involvement!? Yes Steve waves a fond farewell to London's nightlife to embark on his new and much anticipated musical career. Steve will be performing a very special midnight PA and DJ set. You may have heard the rave reviews "STAB" Steve's new band received when playing for Stephen Fry at Sotherby's art gallery, where they performed some of his new tracks " Diary of a Mad Man" and " Jump up there's a new movement coming on" - with titles like that you know Mr Strange is once again reinventing, revitalising and leading the way in how to have fun and look fabulous while doing it! The live PA at Princess Julia’s party went down such a storm people were screaming for more. So The Red Rooms is proud to be giving you what you want. With Dennis Da Silva and DJ Leigh supporting Steve Strange playing pure 80s from the sound of the New Romantics and Steve’s group, Visage, right through to the dance-fuelled late 80s. Strange cocktails will be served early on, and the venue itself will have decor from the original Blitz Club, plus original photography and artwork from those legendary nights when Blitz was the epicentre of culture and music and Steve Strange was in the papers every week - turning away Mick Jagger (but letting in Bowie), whilst Rosemary Turner worked the door and Boy George ran the cloakroom.
