To clean brass rub with one half lemon dipped in salt. To protect brass, spray with clear lacquer for lasting finish OR use olive oil to prevent tarnishing. Fill vases with sand to prevent them from tipping over and breaking. You can dust books with a wide paintbrush (without the paint of course). You can remove scratches in wood by using a liquid or paste polish.
