On 10 July, 2001, my family decided they had enough of the cold weather and we headed up to Cairns (that's heading in a northerly direction). We arrived to 28 degree temperatures - I considered myself lucky when I gpt a little burnt. I had a golf lesson and we did many day trips. We got to go Go-karting which is really so much fun. We went into the Daintree rainforest - a type of environment I hadn't really been to before. We also went white water rafting, however it's not really comparable to New Zealand's rafting experience. It was a good break overall, although probably not long enough. Only six days later did I find myself back on the shores of Sydney (umm, we flew). Anyway, here are some photos.
