Born in the middle of Kurdistan,   between Diyarbakir and Urfa. His home-place and the area around, was a world   full of music, all down from the father, a great Fluitplayer and singer, to   his older brother, from which Þivan took some influences, voice-effects. And   so the rest of the family -everyone loved song and music. He was raised up   from childhood with music-groups, meetings, dance-groups, -all days of music,   joy, togetherness. One of the first memories is from 4 - 5 years age, is from   people in the neighborhood, how they use to say: Þivan, sing for us,   please. We give you candy or sweets -just sung! They really loved and   enjoyed to hear his voice.

		Beloved and happy - he sang - and   growed up. Still singing. By the time he went to high-school people already   had been asked him: Þivan, why don't give out records? A question like that   never crossed his mind. School, serious studying, or a way to make a real   duty for his people, Kurdish people, was more in his mind. And beside - to be   Famous the need to sing in Turkish Language. But the songs was with him.   Songs for friendship, Humanity, Freedom, Peace.
		Every new song brought a new message,   and from 1975 he starts as a Protest-singer.
		About a question why he continue his   singing without views to be a Star, he answered: I want my songs to bring the   message around, about the reality, about Kurdish peoples situation and life.   About the pressure they live under, about social misery, about occupation. I   must give Kurdish music a face, a personality. I want to serve them all, with   my music.
		Still, Þivan didn't get a real musical   education from the start. He was reading matematic, but peace by peace   learned himself, he met other peoples music, and he became a Profession al   Music-man. Until now has been making more than 20 cassettes recorded, some   CD, LP, films and videos, and he has became a teacher for many Kurdish   singers, but perhaps for more than the others. He's son. We thing hell be a   good walker in his fathers footsteps. Even Þivan's wife Gulistan, is a very   well-known and loved singer. Just say her name, all Kurdish people know. She   makes a person out of the meaning the Flower of Kurdistan.
		By now Þivan's music is all over the   world, has been crossing continents, he is been making Solidarity-concerts,   Multicultural concerts, he is everywhere by now. This new record is one of   Þivan's more traditional records. Every new record is different from the   other.
		One classical, one traditional, one   with Protest-songs, Friendship, Hope, Freedom - and some with sad and   beautiful strong love-songs. All sung on dialects. This record presents 3.   Many years has passed, since the day 1976 when he left his precious   Kurdistan, without hope of return back. His land is forbidden land, he is   forbidden man.
