Best friends for over a decade, I must say that Melissa is solely responsible for my (*cough*obsession*cough*) first foray into fandom on the internet and Fan Fiction. She was the one who introduced me to The X-Files over a decade ago, and the first one to stumble upon X-Files FanFic. Then I started writing little blurbs here and there about what I would want to see on the show on my little Brother Word processor, and as they say, the rest is history.
I've invested hundreds of hours in writing fic, finding it my best catharsis. While I've published most of it, some sits on my hard drive unfinished and some sits there designated as personal and unmoving. Pulling my XF fics out of retirement is not the easiest task (most of the stories are on long lost disks or in antiquated file formats), it's one that's been a great trip down memory lane.
She and I have co-authored several XF fics (all of the MSR persuasion), and she's been both like a sister and an inspiration for me. She's my best critic and fan. Melissa is a wonderful writer in her own right, as you'll hopefully see. There's also a third to our little group, the ever elusive Kristen, who has been supportive, though slightly confused by the two of us for as long as we've been friends. She's the one that keeps us grounded (aka reminds us it's considered stalking and not simply being a fan) when one of us (Melissa...) says something silly like we want to be Hugh Laurie's best friend...
I practically fell into the CSI fandom by mistake. CSI, at first, was background noise while I wasted time between Survivor and ER, but I was quickly sucked into the third season. It was Playing With Fire that sent me running to my computer, wondering if there was a fandom for CSI like the one I had been involved in for X-Files. Boy, was I happy to find one of the best communities on the 'net with my fellow G/S shippers.
My love of Hugh Jackman has throughly submerged me in the Wolverine/Rogue 'ship in the X-Men fandom. (another amazing fandom should I say so myself!) The revival of great 80's TV via DVDs has reignited a passion for MacGyver (and Cincoflex has pulled me into the sadly small world of MacFic). Melissa, however, is completely responsible for my love of House and my 'ship of House/Cameron. I'm also a huge fan of L&O:SVU and Psych, though there's no fic (yet...)
As for my bio, I'm a 20-something dance teacher and choreographer. I've been writing as long as I can remember, and have books full of poems, fanfic, and original ideas. I've been involved in amateur television production and am infinitely interested in all things art and science related. Music and reading are two other passions that I persue constantly. |
