1st Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across until there are 66 sc on row. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 1 turn.
2nd Row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1 turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 1 inch. Turn.
Next Row: Sl st across first 5 sts, ch 1, sc across to within last 5 sts. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 4 inches in all. Break off.
FRONT YOKE (make 2).... Starting at bottom, make a chain to measure 6 ½ inches.
1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across until there are 33 sc on row. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 1, turn. Work as for Back Yoke until piece measures 3 ¼ inches, ending at front edge.
To Shape Neck: 1st Row: Sl st across first 9 sc, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
2nd row: Sc in each sc across. Ch1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 4 inches in all. Break off. Sew side and shoulder seams.
BODICE... Starting at front edge, make a chain to measure 6 ½ inches.
1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook * skip 2 ch, in next ch make dc, ch 3 and sc. Repeat from * across until row measures 5 ½ inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3 turn.
2nd row: * Draw loop on hook out to measure ¼ inch, yarn over and draw loop through, insert hook between single and double loops and draw a loop through, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook (knot st made) dc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Ending with dc in last sc. Ch 1 turn.
3rd row: Sc in first dc, * in next dc made dc, ch 3 and sc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc, ch 3 and sc in 3rd ch of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. The 2nd and 3rd rows constitute the pattern. Work in pattern until piece measures 29 inches in all. There should be the same amount of rows as there are sc on first row of entire yoke.
SLEEVES.... Make a chain to measure 8 inches.
1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across until row measures 7 inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 1 turn.
2nd row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until piece measures 6 inches in all. Break off.
Collar... Make a chain to measure 3 inches, 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook * skip 2 ch, in next ch make dc, ch 3 and sc. Repeat from * across until row measures 2 inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn. Continue to work in pattern as for Bodice until piece measures 12 inches in all. Break off. Sew up sleeve seams, leaving a 1-inch opening at top. Sew sleeves in place. With right side facing, sc closely across front edges of Yoke, making 4 sc-3 buttonloops evenly spaced on Left Front ( to make a buttonloop, ch 3, skip next sc, sc in next sc.) Sew Collar in place.
Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonloops. Sew Bodice to Yoke. Work 2 rnds of sc's around sleeve edge, folding work in to measure 5 inches.
2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around 12 sc).
3rd rnd: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc (1 sc increased). Repeat from * around (18 sc).
4th rnd: Sc in each sc around, increasing 6 sc evenly around. Continue in this manner, being careful not to have increases fall over previous increases, until there are 108 sc on rnd. Now work sc in each sc around without increasing until piece measures 5 inches from center.
RIGHT EARFLAP... 1ST row: Sc in next 18 sc. Ch 1 turn.
2nd row: Sc in each of next 18 sc. Ch 1 turn. Repeat 2nd row for 1-½ inches.
Next row: Sc in each sc across, decreasing 1 sc at both ends-to dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc as 1 sc. Ch 1, turn. Repeat last row 3 times more. At end of last row, break off.
LEFT EARFLAP... Skip next 48 sc, attach yarn to next sc, sc in same place and in next 17 sc. Complete as for Right Earflap. With right side facing, sc closely around outer edges of Cap, including Earflaps. Turn. Sl st in each sc around. Break off.
CORD (make 2)... Cut 4 strands of yarn, each 1 yard long. Twist these threads tightly, then double theses strand and give them a twist in the opposite direction. Fasten ends securely. Make 2 more cords using 20-inch strands.
POMPON (make 3)... Cut 2 cardboard circles, each 1-½ inches in diameter. Cut a hole ½ inch in diameter in center of each cardboard circle. Cut two 5-yard lengths of yarn. Place cardboard circles together and wind warn around the double circles, drawing yarn through center opening and over edge until center hole is filled (using more lengths of yarn if necessary). Cut yarn around outer edge between the 2 circles. Double ½ yard length of yarn, slip between the 2 cardboard circles and tie securely around strands of Pompon. Remove cardboard and trim evenly.
Sew a Pompon to end of each long cord and one to center of cap. Sew ends of short cords to corners of Earflaps. Knot each free end of long cords to center of each short cord.
1st rnd: 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 2 ch, half dc in next ch, sc in next 2 ch, half dc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, tr in next 6 ch, 9 tr in last ch; working along opposite side of starting chain, make tr in next 6 ch, dc in next 3 ch, half dc in next ch, sc in next 2 ch, half dc in next ch, dc in next 2 ch, 3 dc in same place where first 3 dc were made. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of starting chain.
2nd and 3rd rnds: Sc in each st around, increasing as necessary across rounded ends to keep work flat. Join. Break off at end of 3rd rnd.
UPPER-Instep...Starting at center, ch 8. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. 3 sc in last ch: working along opposite side of starting chain make sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
2nd to 5th rows incl.: Sc in each sc across, increasing 3 sc evenly across rounded end. Ch 1 turn. At end of 5th row, ch 3 for ankle, sl st in first sc.
Side piece...1st rnd: Sc in each sc and in each ch around. Join.
2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds: Sc in each sc around. Join and break off at end of 4th rnd.
Beading:1st rnd: Attach yarn to opposite side of starting chain on Side Piece, ch 4 * skip 1 st, dc in next st, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join. 2nd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, sc in each sp and in each dc around. Join. Break off.
Cuff...Ch 14, 1st row: sc in 2nd ch from hook, (skip 2 ch, in next sc make dc, ch 3 and sc) 4 times. Ch 3, turn. Work in bodice pattern as for Sacque until 13 patterns are completed. Break off. Pin Sole in place. Working through both thicknesses, attach yarn at back and sc, closely around. Join and break off.
Sew short ends of each Cuff together and sew to last row of beading. Make 2 long cords and 4 pompons as for Cap. Lace on cord through beading of each bootee. Sew one pompon to each end of cords.
