Welcome to my Christmas Page for the Last Year of the Millennium

As Christians travel into the Jubilee year, the Advent season is upon us soon. On this page and the links that appear below, you will find everything from Advent calendars to Christmas stories to a special holiday greeting for you and yours.

As with the Church, I will start with Advent. Children do not manage to wait well. They want to rush ahead to the good things that are in the future. Below is a child's Advent calendar and a family calendar that begins the day after Thanksgiving.

Advent....A Time of Waiting
Advent for Families
This begins the Friday after Thanksgiving.

As I get ready for Christmas, music plays an important part. I have spent all my life living where the snow is what let you know the holidays were drawing near. In recent years, snow has not come for Christmas as much as I wish and even less prior to the holidays. So as I try to get my home and family ready for Christmas, I turn to Christmas music to set the mood.

The meaning behind "The Twelve Days of Christmas"

Symbols are almost as important as music to the Christmas celebration. One of the most important symbols is the candy cane. Children like it because it is candy; adults because of the taste. Below are links to the many symbols of Christmas.

Christmas cards are one of the most important symbols of the season. We use them to convey our thoughts and feelings to those across town, those across the country, those across an ocean. I found cards one year that conveys a pro-life theme. I always have more than one type of card. The religious ones and then I have the fun snowmen ones or the pretty wildlife ones. Below you can find your own online Christmas cards and see my pro-life greetings.

Another favorite thing of mine to do during the holidays is read. Actually I love to read all the time but the holidays have me in tears much more frequently than regular reading. I have found many different varieties of Twas the Night Before Christmas but my favorites are here along with other good Christmas reading. Some are links to other parts of my web site while others take you to other sites.

So many people have inspired me. Special thanks go to all those on the Christmas99 list at onelist.com. Without the people on this list that I only know by email addresses, I would not have a lot of the items I put on here.
Also special thanks to the kids. They keep telling me more to put on here because, like their mom, Christmas is their favorite holiday!!!
Also special thanks to Derrick who listened and corrected as I made my mistakes...which were many...and I stumbled into Christmas 1999!
