IRAQI POSTAGE STAMPS

Since the Gulf War more than a decade ago, it has become difficult (if not impossible) to find any information about Iraq's postage stamps.  Due to various trade embargoes from the UN, the U.S., and other countries, supplies of these stamps rarely reach the outside world.  I have seen very, very little information anywhere about new Iraqi stamp issues, so what I will try to do here is to provide a little bit of new issue information.  Some of the information provided is outdated--from March 1996--it was provided to me by Iraq's Ministry of Telecommunications and Posts Stamp Section at that time.  NB: Anything listed on this page issued in 1998 or 1999 was available from the philatelic bureau in Baghdad as of August 17, 2000.  (See below for contact information.)
