DUBUQUELAND
Welcome to DUBUQUELAND, located in the heart of America's historic German Belt.

What is the German Belt? It's the area stretching from Pennsylvania to the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains where the majority of the German-American population has resided since their ancestors settled here. The German Belt includes several states and counties where the majority of the population is of German origin. The German Triangle is another term referring to the area from Cincinnati to Milwaukee to Saint Louis, where German-speaking immigrants settled and established their culture. (The use of the word "German" also includes those who came from other German-speaking parts of Europe, such as Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Switzerland, and parts of Eastern Europe where Germans had settled.)

DUBUQUELAND, which includes Dubuque County, Iowa, is a special place in the rich, and often overlooked, history of Germans in America.
