Here's a story Michelle Akers tells about Tracy & Chris in one of her books:
"I have a funny story about Noons and her now husband, Chris Ducar. Tracy proposed to Chris in Orlando in one of my favorite restaurants (Colorado Fondue). She told us her plans and arranged it with Blake, the owner of the restaurant (and friend of mine), so there was a big build up to it. When it was finally over and she reported the details of her big night at practice the next day, we all celebrated with her. Weeks later, I was chatting with some guys from Soccer Plus Goalkeeper School (Tony's camps). As par for the course, I couldn't remember where I knew these guys from. I was sure I knew them from somewhere, but for the life of me, I could not figure out where. So I kept talking, figuring eventually I would dredge up their faces and names from somewhere in that hazy memory of mine. Anyway, like an idiot, I told them about Noonan's surprise proposal, and guess who the guy was... Chris, her fiance. Boy, did I feel like a jerk. I know I'll never hear the end of that one."

A cute thing from a Boston Breakers newsletter:
"Word has it that Tracy is having trouble remembering her wedding song (don't be mad Chris [Tracy's husband]). Sarah Powell thinks that's appalling and has hung a note inside Tracy's locker with the song written on it so that it won't happen again. Hey Tracy, is that what happens when you get old - you start losing your memory? By the way - the song was "Have I Told You Lately that I Love You?" and NOT the Rod Stewart version - it was Van Morrison all the way baby."

Chris's nickname is "Bird" or "Birdman," both which come from "Big Bird."  I had heard Akers refer to him as "Birdman" before but it really surprised me when Jamie Kinney (a former UNC gk) asked me how I knew "Bird" - that made me laugh!

I have met Chris on several several occasions (post game reception in 1999, UNC soccer camp, Carolina Courage game, UNC game) and he is a really great person.  He is always very friendly and it really surprised me when he recognized me this past summer at the Courage game.  Hopefully next summer he'll be in Atlanta when Tracy plays there and we can cheer her on together.

Wanna see what Mr & Mrs Ducar's mansion looks like?
Here's a picture curtesy of their own homepage.  (That's Tracy little red Honda civic in the bottom right hand corner.)

And for clarification, I like to believe that I am Tracy #1 Fan - but in reality Chris truly is. BUT... who ever said that Tracy can't have more than 1 #1 fan?  Can anyone really have too many #1 fans????

Here are some pics from when I've met Chris, the 1st one in Nov 99, the 2nd one I took from the stands at Fetzer Field when I spotted him on the balcony of the soccer center, and the others my dad took while I was talking to him after a Courage game:
"Tracy Ducar's dedication to soccer is so complete, her college coach jokes the reason she married her husband is that he's one of the best goalie coaches in the country."  - Eagle Tribune

Tracy met Chris at a soccer camp in 1994 and began dating him after she graduated from college.  In 1996, Tracy proposed to Chris at Colorado Fondue during a training camp in Orlando.  Michelle Akers says that their picture still hangs in there!  They were married on April 19, 1997, but their original honeymon was cancelled when the National Team had an unexpected game scheduled with Brazil.  They finally took their honeymoon in 2000.
