The Update...Easy as One, Two, Three (Years)
Well I have now successfully completed one solid year in Korea!!! I am amazed when I think about it, and astonished that I could make it through!  During this year I have had many ups and downs.....One of the most exciting ups, was when my boyfriend asked me to marry him! Yes I will be marrying the most wonderful man next year on September 30th. This has brought about even more adventures for me. These include, meeting his father!!, planning a Korean wedding that includes both traditional western and Korean ceremonies, and learning to accept that I will probably be living in Korea for a few more years.

I have also had many downs during this last year.  I have seen friends come and go, dealt with racism on every level and learned to even enjoy Kimchi!!

Living in Korea is a wonderful experience that I would suggest to anyone who is interested in traveling and meeting new and interesting people. Living here has forced me to grow up, take care of myself, and learn to deal with and understand people that I would normally not hang around with.

The most important thing you'll learn about living in Korea is that you just have to learn to get along. The foreign community is so small here that you will meet and make friends with many interesting people, and you just have to learn to accept some flaws that you may have been able to live without back home.

I will be returning to the states for a mini vacation...three weeks...and I am looking forward to it!! I love living in Korea, but like I told my father the other day...I am like a recharchable battery...I'm running low and I need to go home to get recharged!

I hope to have another update soon...so stay tuned!

Ok...I'm back..I went on my vacation, recharged my soul, and am back teaching with a new enthusiasm. I have notice things are different now. For instance, I seem to be getting much more respect from my director, and much more jeolousy from my co-worker...but that is life. I have learned the serenity prayer inside and out this year and learned to live it! I am glad that I came back...and happy that many of my good friends are staying until at least Dylan and I get married!! I'm happy to be in Korea...and even though I do have bad days...I won't ever regret the experiences I have had here!
Two Years...can you believe it!!
I have now successfully lived in Korea for two years!! During that time I have had a few new experiences (not as many as the first year.) My family came to visit me in September of 1999, and we had a wonderful time. They met Dylan and his family and got along very well. We also changed the wedding date to the 21st of October because we are now getting married in America. It just turned out to be a lot easier this way. I have made many new friends, seen some wonderful people leave, and wished others would. I have had the first all out fight with my director, almost got fired, and signed on for a few more months. I have had my ups and downs again this year, but I would never had changed all that I have gone through.
