Church and Skate was right!

I assume most of you by now have heard the new NOFX: War on Errorism. Its a good record.  and most you probably all know the words to the first track, the separation of church and skate.  I've heard kids say that They've sold out or that they're not hardcore enough for their taste.  but if you can name another punk rock band that is pushing 40 and are still playing and touring just as much as they did in their golden years then i'll give you a dollar. but that/s not the point. "when did punk rock become so safe? when did the scene become a joke?"  well its a damn good question if you ask me. Punk rock isn't safe. its not friendly.  or at least it didnt used to be.  if you go to a "new punk" concert today you'll see little kids running around singing all the songs just as long as their parents who sit quietly on the side can see them. The scene is dying qickly as much as i hate to say it and its because of crap like that.  Punk rock isnt nice or friendly.  its made to piss people off. it is supposed to "represent our hatred of authority" as the song says. To me, and i kno0w im gonna sound like an artsy creep, punk rock is an outlet for all the frustration that i get from being pushed around and being told i can't do something.  Punk rock is ours.  it belongs to the kids that are pissed and want to do sumthing about it even if that something is just pissing the hell out of the authority. it doesn't belong to those whiny bastards who wonder what their ex is thinking about.  save that crap for the little girls room.  i'll tell you one thing, punk rock wasnt safe back in the day and it sure as hell shouldnt be now.  so piss people off.  do what you want. punk rock is for the kids who are pissed and its time to show it.

P.S. i mean what i say and i will stand behind it. i know there are older bands who are still touring but i was making a point. so lighten up and chill out.  have the balls to put a name behind your words.
