What is all this hype that you've been hearing about Bear Country? Is this
just a poor attempt at a hunting sim, you ask? Well read the
reviews yourself, even some of the top magazines in the world are recommending
it. Bear Country is sure to be the next DOOM with it's controversial, record
breaking playability, and it's gripping first person perspective. Duke it out
with all different kinds of bears, ranging from black bear to polar bear,
koala bear to glacier bear, and grizzly bear to panda bear. You'll never
experience anything like it!

Installation:

If you're reading this text file then that means you've probably already
installed the game, but here's what you SHOULD have done:

Place the zipped file: BEAR.ZIP in a directory by itself, and unzip the
program. Read the read me file, then run bear.bat, and you're playing!

Loading and Saving:

You can only load and save from the Gun store, (The yellow dot on your mini-
map)

Once inside the store, push "S" to save your game. It will prompt you for a
filename. Give it a filename, any filename. It will save your data inside
the file. Then you can die, or quit "X", or whatever, and as long as you don't
write again to that file, your game will be saved.

Once inside the store, push "L" to load your game. It will ask you for a
filename. Give it the filename of a previously saved game. It will load and
you will be one square to the left of the gunstore with your saved game
loaded.

Quiting:

Push X during gameplay.

Gameplay:

Use the Num-Pad for moving your aimer up, down, left or right. When your aimer
goes off the screen, you will move one square in that direction on you
minimap. Note: Make sure num-lock is ON!

Push to fire. Note: once you run out of ammunition, move your aimer to
the grey circle in the top right corner and fire. You will be reloaded.

< and >: Changing your intervals. > increases your intervals while < decreases
them. The higher your intervals the more space your aimer covers with one push
of the arrow keys.

M: Use a medikit. Each heal 25% of you. Note: You don't have unlimited of these, and they cost Bear
Points, so use them wisely.

There are a few more commands, but most are relatively self-explanatory.

Bear Points:

You get different amounts of bear points for each bear you "bag" You can buy
different items with different amounts of bear points at the store (Yellow
dot)

MiniMap:

You are the little red dot. The Yellow dot is the gun store. The purple dots
are lodges. At lodges you can push "H" and be teleported back to the left of
the gunstore.

The Green square is Grizzly Terrain (Medium+)
The Brown Square is Black Bear Terrain (Medium)
The Bright Green square is the Jungle (Begginer area)
The White square is the glacier (ADVANCED AREA!)

Note: Grizzly Terrain and Black Bear terrain overlap. You will find both types
of bear there.
