Welcome to the home page of Lodge Dumfries Kilwinning No. 53 on the roll of The Grand Lodge Of Scotland.  Dating prior to 1575, we are proud to be the oldest masonic lodge in the province of Dumfriesshire, South-West Scotland.

The town of Dumfries, known to many as "The Queen Of The South", is a lively, modern rural town with many things to see and do.  The town has many places of interest, particularly due to its links to two of Scotland's most famous historical characters  - Robert The Bruce and Robert Burns (Burns' son  - also called Robert  -  was a Past Master of the Lodge).

Brother Alan W. Caskie, Right Worshipful Master

Welcome

Welcome to the official Lodge Dumfries Kilwinning No.53 website.

The aim of this website is to promote freemasonry in general and Lodge 53 in particular.  It is hoped it will keep members and friends up to date with happenings at "The Olde Lodge", in addition to providing interesting reading for historians and the general public alike.  I hope you enjoy your visit and that you return again very soon.

We've had to recently change the Guestbook due to some minor problems with the old one, meaning that, unfortunately, all of the old messages have been lost. Please remember to sign the Guestbook before you leave and, you never know, we'll maybe even meet some evening at Lodge Dumfries Kilwinning No.53.

Alan W. Caskie RWM
