Irstead Church, River Ant
Just below Barton Broad the river narrows over a gravel bottom and becomes Irstead Shoals. It is a pretty stretch and about half way along there is a small staithe with free moorings which serves the church of St Michael. The small church is thatched with flint walls and was built in the 14th century, it was re-fitted in 1844.
1905
An ' Oilette ' of St Michael's church Irstead sent as a Christmas card to a Miss Ruby May, Impney Lodge, Droitwich from Mabel.
