SHERMAN
Sherman was established due to the building of the transcontinental railraod.  It is the highest spot in elevation on the line.  It sits at more than 8262 feet in elevation.  It was established on September 11, 1869.  It sprang up almost over night.  There was a Wells Fargo office, two hotels, and many other businesses.  Today, all that that remains is the five stall roundhouse and the turntable. But these are woth seeing.  There is also a roundhouse in Como, Colorado.
