Friday, November 28th, 2003 - Catching Up
I had a wonderful time in the last week catching up with friends from UW La Crosse and my high school youth group. I love talking with people about what God's been doing, so I enjoyed many good conversations and encouragements. One thing that hit me was to see how God has blessed my UWL friends through my going away to Duluth this year.
I went off to Duluth through answers to prayer, and God was showing me at that time that I needed to be far away from pretty much everything and everyone to grow in dependence and reliance on Him. That has been a huge blessing for me this year, but I didn't really think about the impact that that would have on my group of friends back at UWL. I didn't really realize the effect that I had on people and the chemistry of the group last year. I just thought that I was responsible for getting everyone to stay up late with me. It was awesome to see God working in awesome yet totally different ways back in La Crosse.
I am very excited and encouraged by how God has been strengthening and building up so many people. It was great to see everyone again. For the last 3 days of the break, I am going to my cousins' house today, going to my youth pastor's house tonight, am completely open for anything Saturday, heading down to Milwaukee area on Sunday, coming back Sunday evening and saying final goodbyes, and finally leaving for Duluth Sunday night or possibly early Monday morning.
I leave you with one of my favorite quotes from this week: "If you put Minnesota and Canada together, you get Canasota" (Jackie). There are a lot more that I wish I remembered but that is the most recent one that stuck in my head.
