The Dutch Rabbit is one of the most popular breeds in America today. Considered the true fanciers breed, it is a challenge to even the most experienced breeders. The difficulty of raising the Dutch rabbit for showing is the combination of type and markings. Only a rabbit possessing both the proper compact type and the symmetrical markings, as set down by the standard, will excel. The Dutch rabbit ranges in size from 3 ½ to 5 ½ pounds Hello, and Welcome to Dutch Rabbits on the Web! I am designing this site as a comprehensive and informative reference for all peoples interested in the Dutch Rabbit for showing, breeding, or just as pets. Much of this site is made up of both text and pictorial descriptions. All info on standards is based on those recognised by the ARBA or a working standard, for more complete information on Dutch rabbit standards please purchase the Standard of Perfection book from the ARBA. This site is designed for informative purposes only. This site is not a complete reference and the information on care and breeding may be subjective. The information contained in the care and breeding pages is not veterinary advice. If your rabbit has a medical problem please consult with a licenced vet! Please contact me for permission to reprint any materials contained with-in. All materials © 2001-2007 Valerie O'Neil unless otherwise noted SITE FEATURES: |
