How did I get involved with Wicca/Witchcraft??

Neither my mother or my father were very religious while I was growing up.  They both believed in Christianity but didn't go to church.  My grandmother, who was an alcoholic, went to church every weekend, and if I was good, she allowed me to go with her.  I enjoyed the arts and crafts that we did in Sunday School, but as soon as Church started, I was ready to go home.  It just seemed like something was missing.

After I got too old for Sunday School, I stopped going to church. I think I was 8 or so.  My parents were getting divorced and we moved to Southern Oregon.

I liked to read (it was an escape from my  depressing home life) and soon I read my way through the local school library.  That was when I found the Greek Mythology books.

If amazed me.  It felt right.  I could see the centaurs and the mythological creatures at play and work.  I could smell the incense of the altars, and most of all, I could hear the gods and goddesses calling me.  So I read all I could about mythology....and wished I could have lived in those times.

As I got older, I drifted more and more into my  own world of magic and make-believe.  Finally, I became an Atheist, believing that since was no alternative to Christianity there must not be a higher power...yet I knew I was wrong.

My senior year in high school, I finally found what I waslooking for. It came in the form of a boy.  His name was Jeremiah and we started dating.  He was friends with lotsof people, and quite a few Wiccans. He introduced me to them and after a few years of fighting my instincts, I asked someone to tell me more about it.  She did and I tried to learn all I could.  But as luck would have it, she moved and we drifted apart.

Now, I'm studying on my own.  Trying to learn more about my chosen path.  This website is helping more then I expected.  When people write me and ask for "guidance," it makes ME think of different ways to look at things.

On a different note, Jeremiah and I were married May 15th, 1999.

Blessed Be!
