KING MARCH

 

Most of the time the inventors of the original technique are unknown as their games are seen rarely in books. The follower may even get the copyright for introducing the formers originality in his games. R.Teichmann originally introduced the ‘King March’ technique.

Teichmann was one of the strongest players between 1885-1914.His greatest success was winning the Carlsbad Tournament in 1911 ahead of Schlechter, Rubinstein, Nimzowistch and Alekhine! The game in which he introduced the ‘King March’ technique is as under:

An interesting fact about this great player was that the master had only one eye and was handicapped by chronic eye trouble throughout his tournament career.
