Merry Christmas from the Weyant family! It must be time for the every other year Christmas letter from our family. I have promised myself that the cards will make it out by January 1st this year so I better start with the letter. A lot has happened since the Spring letter in 1999 so here it goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kailyn is now 8 years old and in the Second grade at Our Shepard Lutheran School. She has hung up her gymnastics outfit for a Tae Kwon Do belt. She has been taking Tae Kwon Do since the fall of 1999 and recently tested for her 4th gup Blue belt (don't worry it wasn't too long ago when I didn't know what that meant!). What that really means that about this time next year she will be testing for her 1st black belt level. She was excited last week when she broke n ½ inch thick piece of wood with an Axe kick for her belt test.

She has also been taking swimming lessons for the last two years and art lessons at the Local Art Center. She loves to take almost anything lying around the house and make it into a masterpiece. This last semester, she tried her hand at real photography (not the lazy way her mom does it!) and even got to learn how to develop the film

Since the last letter, David has changed consulting firms. Whitman-Hart started asking him to travel out of the area more so he moved to a local firm named ONEX. His main focus is e-commerce so now I loose him to hours of writing Java script on the new Weyant family web page. It is a must see at www.weyant.org. When you get there check out David's new look!

He concentrated this fall on making Kailyn a loft bed like you would see in a dorm room. She told us that she wanted bunk beds and this was our answer. It also gained us space because he built a desk under the bed…her own secret hiding place.

I still work at Covance. In the last 1 ½ years, I decided that I needed to travel less and focus more at home. To that end, I took a position as Technical Director of a new department named Specialty Services. This new department is where all of our new products will be developed going forward. I took my last round the world trip in June to open our fifth lab in Singapore. I was excited to see the lab open but sad to say good bye to special friends in Australia and Japan. So now I am planning a family vacation to Australia!!! I can't stay away!

At home, I have been leading the effort to start a pre-school at our church. This school year was our inaugural year with 24 four year olds and 9 three year olds. It has been great fun to start the school and see it grow from just an idea 2 years ago to actually having students. We are now getting ready for our second year of registration.

I hope this letter caught everyone up on the Weyant household. Remember, sign our guest book, or send us an email on our website, and we'll be happy to send you our new address and contact information. Merry Christmas and hope to see and/or hear from you soon!

Love,

David, Cindy, Kailyn, Tyler, Scooby and Scrappy too!
