Thomas Ellis Whitlock
Born January 30, 1915
Passed from this life to be with the Master on August 4, 1992
In the world today the word HERO is bandied about in so many ways that perhaps the true meaning of the word has been lost. When I think of heroes, I think of men like Uncle Ellis Whitlock. He exemplified in his daily life the virtues of love, moral character, and charity of heart. He loved his family in a way that words cannot adequately describe; his example to a young boy on Athens Street (me) and to countless others always pointed us in the right direction; and his untold acts of kindness demonstrated in an outward way the Christian principles that governed his life. In token of my respect, love, and appreciation for this great American, I dedicate this web page to his memory.

A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver or gold.
