Episode IV - The fourth running adventure of Art, Dan, and Pavel at the
20th Los Angeles Marathon.

All photos below are uncropped, but very vigorously scaled down from the originals
in anticipation of my bandwidth limit here.

Before the Race...

So joyous at 6.30 AM

Early morning in the hills.

Notice the shiny SS in the background.

Jamming down the Highway to Hell (AKA Interstate 5 Southbound).

Is that Downtown?

Yes, now that I focused the camera a bit.

Walking to the start corrals.

Dan, with a very committed runner behind him.

Girlie man pumping up.

Itching to begin.

Almost...

Pretending to run after the official start time, although we have not yet crossed the start line.

Crossing the start marker: Mayor Hahn waving and The Great One pointing.
(Please vote on May 17 - must register by May 2).

Just past the start line - see how the zombies are gaining already?

Is Bib 22129 doing the Robot Dance?

As if Downtown was not dirty enough already.

Art approaching Mile 15.

Art at Mile 26 - what a glorious site that last stretch is.

Art is 50 yards away from the finish.

After the Race...

Dan taking flight.

Pumping life into Art.

THX-17995 taking a much-deserved rest on the Sparkletts pallet.

Fresh-squeezed Robek's juice good...

I love the smell of roses in the afternoon. Smells like...victory.

Notice the bad composition, as well as the bodybags in the background.

Massages are for sissies.

I don't need no stinkin' Tylenol (although I took it minutes before as a precaution).

A Dan tradition - Bratwurst after the race.

Walking to the car.

Driving the SS.
