Retired ESL teacher grades 6-12, currently teaching MA TESOL program, test writing

In my spare time, I like to do African drumming and facilitate drum circles.  I'll be moving to Germantown, Maryland soon and need to explore part-time teaching opportunities there, on-line or face to face.

Rod Lewis

Korea

I have been teaching ESL in Asia (Korea, Thailand, Vietnam) since 1986. Am currently working in Seoul at an overseas study center of the University of California, Riverside,

Mark Algren

Lawrence, Kansas

I teach in the Applied English Center at the University of Kansas, and have been here since 1993, but not for much longer. Most of my professional life (1982ff) has been in Saudi Arabia, and the siren song of the sand beckons - and I'm returning but this time as director of the Intensive English Program at American University of Sharjah, UAE.

Alton Cole

Victoria, Canada

I jumped at the opportunity to teach in Japan for a year — and stayed for 12, teaching in a private junior / senior secondary school in Kyoto. While there, I completed a master's degree in EFL through SIT. I have taken the last year off, and will be traveling this August to the United Arab Emirates to teach at a women's university.

Mary Jane Danan

Oregon

I worked in ESL in and around NYC for 12 years before returning to Oregon to work at TIUA and raise a family I would like to offer online courses to students at our home institution in Japan. Another goal is to work overseas again, preferably in Morocco (my husband's native country) or the UAE. I would like my daughters to learn Arabic while they're still young. Maybe a leave of absence is in my future... I love to go to the theatre, and to museums. I also love to read, bicycle, work in the garden, and go walking.

Linda Hedlough-Jamin

I've been teaching ESL for about 25 years, mostly in Europe

Climbing, hiking, skiing, caving, diving and gardening.
I have a part-time husband (he works in the petroleum industry and is always on assignment to foreign sites, mostly in Africa) and a full-time cat. Our children are grown, which means that we would have time to spend on our hobbies if we weren't so busy earning a living and learning new skills.

Keiko Inouye

Yokohama, Japan

I lived in Greenwich, Connecticut and helped ESL classes at junior high and elementary schools.  I earned a master's degree at Manhattanville College in New York. Now, I’ve been teaching English at college and  language school ( face to face classes) for 8 years I am not a teacher of online learning,  but I have online learning experience  as a student and had a wonderful time with other students in the United States although I was in Japan

Staci Johnson

Long Beach, CA

ESL Instructor of adult immigrant students
My most recent accomplishment was co-authoring an adult ESL basal series, Stand Out: Standards-Based English with my good friend and colleague Rob Jenkins
My path to becoming an ESL teacher started when I live in Firenze, Italia for a year when I was in college. There was nothing I enjoyed more than meeting people on the train or in hostels and trying to communicate with them. From that moment on I knew I wanted to work with people from different cultures. (Pic: My husband Eric and I skiing in Mammoth.)

Susan Jordan

Boston, MA

I am Coordinator of ESL Programs, Director of Women's Studies, and Director of the Women's Resource Center at Fisher College, a small, deeply urban, private college located in the fabulous Back Bay area of Boston. I also am a Boston resident, city girl and Red Sox fan to my toes. This pic. is from my other most favorite place in the world - Ocean Grove, NJ, where Ispend my summers and plan to retire to someday.

Michael Klingler
