Heavenly Garden

God has a lovely garden
In his mansion up above
He tends the garden everyday
With tenderness and love

The flowers that are in it
Are the sweetest and the best
To get into God's garden
They have to pass a test

He goes around them everyday
Treating them with care
You're really very fortunate
You have a flower there

And when you reach that garden
You'll look at it with pride
Knowing God, he'll probably put you
At your loved ones side

This is a poem that i found on the front
of a sympathy card that I was sending to
someone who had just had a bereavement.
It helped them come to terms with their loss.
The poem is by Alan Guest.

Peter's Life...6/6/60-28/6/00

Peter, where are you
Why have you gone
You've left this earth
Your life is done
No more pain
For body or soul
You were so young
Achieved no goal
You accepted the sins
That man invented
We knew your fate
Should have prevented
You fought your life
Right to the end
But your liver failed
Wouldn't mend
But on you'll live
Through our two boys
They'll open their mouths
I'll hear your voice
They'll open their eyes
Through which you'll see
The parts of you
Thats left with me
Besides your faults
I really did care
But it was difficult
For our lives to share
On we must live
Remembering you
The impact you made
To quite a few
We'll meet again
Another day
Where your father and sister
Are showing you the way
So until then
It's bye for now
Look down on us
And guide us how

Peter is the father of my two boys, unfortunately our
relationship broke down because he had a drink problem.
However he always declared his undying love for me,
which I am greatful for. The drink did eventually kill him
leaving many broken hearts. This poem describes in a
simple way how I feel and that he is always in my thoughts.

Tribute To Dad

In our tears we saw you sinking
We watched you fade away
But on you'll live forever
In our hearts is where you'll stay

Though your smile is gone forever
And your hand we cannot touch
We'll treasure all our memories
Of the dad we loved so much

Tribute to dad is a poem that my children
had placed in the obituaries of our local
paper when their father passed away.
