Guest Poet Page
Rough Draft
Barbed wire dreams
faded innocence
stretching out through
the universe
feeling nothing~
but pain.

Sorrow creeps in
making a mass of
confusion in my heart.
So I take it out
letting it beat
in the palm of my hand.
While I stare
quivering inside,
I take a bite of myself.
Blood dripping like rain
from my trembling lips
I close my eyes
and think of
my long lost
love.

I'm the rock that pierces your foot
when you walk barefoot on gravel.
I'm the flame that burns your finger
when you light a candle.
I'm the stinging words that you use
when you write in your book.
I'm the knife that makes your thumb bleed
when you cut fruit.
and yet
the only thing
that hurts you is
my love.
