E4 Volume Control was designed to provide a simple yet effective interface solution to the built-in audio system in a PC as an alternative to using other complicated mixers, and enable those with audio setting problems, as well as those without problems, the ability to access common audio settings directly without the possibility of driver & hardware/software conflicts which exists in alot of newer software mixer's.

Isn't this just another mixer, why install it?

Nope, a number of people have been having problems with audio settings, even those that have been used too manually adjusting these settings for years using either a software mixer installed with their soundcard, from other software companies, and/or the main windows volume control, alot of programs adjust audio settings and make changes to those settings without the user even knowing it, such as with various chat programs and media players. Some of the newer software that come with soundcards are even changing the windows volume control itself making it different to suite the installed soundcard. That alone is 1 thing that has caused some confusion as in the settings are totally different and software that attempts to make changes to the audio in a PC can create problems, as chances are the settings will be incorrect. Most companies have changed the way audio settings are adjusted, adding much confusion to those already familiar with the basic concepts, as well as causing more problems with audio that perhapes didn't exist before. This is just a few of the reasons I decided to work on this project and make this software available.

Note: Right now, the program is a BETA and will definately be updated, the choice has been made to make this program available for usage now as a courtesy. Since this is a BETA project and since it was made in a certain programming language the program & install is bigger than it could be, after it's ready for standard release will be converted to another langauge if possible to a high speed, on the fly, CPU, memory & resource efficient program the size of a small picture, the goal size scaled down hopefully between 8 - 60KB.

"A project like this is a great challenge to any developer, only because the type of programming that is required to do this is very difficult compared to other things, in fact, it's actually much easier to develop a server than it is a mixer."
