I'm glad to see that others are as happy with Rod's work as I am. I've cleared out the news links that are no longer functional with the exception of the piece about the Adam family; I hope we can somehow restore that. I too would like to have the photos of other families here. Just send them to my email address above. As soon as I can, I'll change things to include a page of thumbnails that point to full-size photos. Jim Brokaw

The photo of Shalin and Rebecca is lovely. And it was great to see Dick and Ginnie on Mt. Ascutney. I'd love to see more photos of all our families.

Hopefully I will meet many of you in person at the Newport Memorial. I am approaching the Memorial with many mixed emotions. After almost one year, we still have no clear answers. Peace to you all...

There is an interesting article at www.newsmax.com. On the left-hand margin, the third article listed is "Egypt Air Crash Fuels Anger Towards Israel." It appears that Egypt believes that Israel was involved in the crash. I personally find this more beli vable than pilot suicide

Hello, I am glad to see there is a public forum, in addition to our private family website. I reached a couple of 'dead ends' in trying to connect to the photos page, a story on the Adam family, and the link titled "The Newport Memorial." I especially a interested in a photos page; somehow having read so many stories from people who also lost loved ones on this ill-fated flight, I am eager to SEE what they looked like as well. I was glad (and also very sad) to see the photo of Shaline Adam and her daug ter on the home page of this site. Bless you all, Fran Brokaw (lost my father and stepmother on EA990)

I'd just like to say what a great site this will be and I hope others will contribute to this site as it does help to hear the thoughts of others that are going thru the same thing. Iam sorry I closed my web site but after several visits and no responses felt it was time to close it down but this one is really going to be a big help such as the one that Jim set up.

Tom Oey in Singapore would like to connect with families of Egyptair 990 to talk about preventention of pilot suicide. Pilot suicide is one of the suspected causes for the crash of SilkAir 185 December 19, 1997, Polenbang, Indonesia. The website is: http://home.pacific.net.sg/~silkair.mi185

10/1/00 I just now found this web site, thanks to NADAF. I lost my sister and her husband on that flight, (Betty & David VanBuskirk),it'll be a year in 30 more days, and I'm still feeling the lost of my sister. I know I'm not the primary next of kin,as my sister ha one daughter and a granddaughter she'll never see again, and had only seen her once when she was born. I just happen to be back in Mass.when the plane went down, I was at a granddaughter wedding the day before the crash, and heard it on the morning news,an at that time I did not know the flight # of my sister flt.,not until I called my niece back in the state of Wash. to find out the flt#,and after I found out, I couldn't talk very much because I was too emotionally disturbed, and I couldn't handle it,at th t time. We did fly back home hoping to bring our niece back with us,so she could be at the memorial, but she didn't want to come,so my wife and came back by ourselve, and spent a week in Newport R.I.,and attened the memorial services that was held there. The airlin s that we traveled on,flew my wife and I first class because of what happened, I thought that was really nice of them, and I thanked them. Have thay really found out yet what really happened? I'll close for now,I hope to be hearing more about this ordeal in the upcoming days and month. Please keep me posted. Thank you Richard E. Some comments: Do not feel rushed to sign up with a lawyer--clearly for the estate--but keep the wrongful death very separate--and do not allow the probate attorney to "sell" the case to someone he thinks is the best. Most of the airline lawsuits are not filed until close to the 2 years--jurisdiction is terribly important and the more information the good aviation attorneys have the better. Those attorneys who are filing and grandstanding now are not helping their clients--they are just trying to get business. Those who have filed may be "stuck" with the wrong jurisdiction and may not have sued enough of the parties to the liability. Once it is filed they must ask the court for leave to make any changes--court may say yes or no. So much to learn about the litigation--I have learned a lot during the past 8 years and especially the past 2 as President of NADA/F. Most important, slow down, interview a lot of attorneys about the airline litigation. No need to rush that. Yes, I know, everyone wants to help you because there is a high probability of settlement, please do not rush it. As you sort through personal affects do not throw away too much. You may need their financial records or personal things that tell people what a wonderful person or family they were. Put it in storage for a couple of years if necessary rather than throw away too much. I am really sorry to mention these things--and please do not think me out of line--I just talk with people later who made mistakes and tried to rush things along. Gail Dunham
