Ecosystem Project

 

     You and your group will be assigned an ecosystem and you will research many factors involved in that system.  You will work within a group but grades will be done individually.   The work will be broken down into three graded aspects; Report, Presentation Poster, and Brochure.  These items will be graded in the following manor:

 

Report = Lab grade (20% value) 2 typewritten pages minimum

10% = geographical ranges of ecosystem discussed specifically

10% = climatologic aspects of this range (what type of climate)

10% = specific area you will study (this can be different from other members of your group) including description of this geographic area

10% = discuss 2 environmental factors that influence this ecosystem

10% = discuss 3 issues that this specific ecosystem is facing that could damage it

10% = discuss 3 unique plants common to that ecosystem

10% = discuss 3 unique animals common to that ecosystem

10% = compare and contrast your ecosystem with another different ecosystem

10% = discuss 3 issues that could preserve this ecosystem if marketed properly

10% = discuss 2 sciences that are utilized in the study of this ecosystem other than ecology or environmental science

100% total

 

Presentation Poster = Homework grade (10% value)

20% = accurate map of entire geographic ecosystem of WHOLE group

20% = representative pictures of unique plant and unique animal for each individual in group (example; person A has 1 plant and 1 animal picture; person B has 1 plant and 1 animal picture...ect all represented on poster)

20% = poster is neat and colorful

20% = climate is described on poster

20% = 3 unique qualities of the ecosystem is illustrated

100% total

 

Brochure = Lab grade (20% value)

Note; this will be a tri-fold brochure on unlined white paper

20% = Map of Specific Geographical region (in color) with description of location

20% = well planned out and organized

20% = discussed the positive aspects of this environment

20% = sells the ecosystem for eco-tourism

20% = on time

100% total
