Young Eagles is an national EAA program to introduce young persons to the world of aviation and provide their first airplane ride free of charge. Chapter 108 is actively looking for young persons to participate in this program and would like to hear from any youth or youth organizations that would be interested in free airplane rides. The national EAA has set a goal of 1 million free airplane rides by the year 2003, the 100th anniverary of the Wright brothers' flight. EAA also has a Young Eagles web site at www.youngeagles.com. Youth participating in the program receive a Young Eagles certificate and have their name entered in the World's Largest Logbook at EAA Headquaters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Youth often have their photo made with their pilot and plane as well. If you're interested in a free Young Eagles plane ride, contact
Gerry Poltorak by phone at (850) 862-0652.
