The Eads Bridge in St. Louis, Missouri  was completed in 1874 at a cost of over $10,000,000.  It consists of three spans. The center span is 520 feet while the other two are 500 feet each.  The piers upon which the spans rest are built of limestone and are carried down into the bedrock. Learn more about the bridge.
