After acquring a computer and a service provider and a lot of surfing thru genealogy pages and websites the research on my paternal side of the family has been expanded greatly. Through leaving posts online a huge door has been opened. And am now just trying to get all the data imputed into the computer.
The research has resulted in learning many facets of my heritage. They include lines connected to Irleand, Scotland, and France mostly. The bulk of the data gathered so far originates from those forefathers who first came to North American to what is known as Port Royal in Nova Scotia. The first European settlers on this continent were known as French Canadians.
It was during the 1630's when France and Britain had settled their differences for the time being that France became the first European country to inhabit what was then known as Acadia.
The first census to be taken in Acadia took place in 1671, many of who are the forefathers that encompass my own research.
