Eagle Vision >> In Depth Eagle Vision comes from the country Autozam- one of the three countries surrounding Cephiro. Because of the technical advances and industrial society of Autozam, it has become badly polluted. The air is unbreathable forcing inhabitants to live inside of enclosed domes. This problem is one of the reasons Eagle took it upon himself to invade Cephiro. The gorgeous Supreme Flight Commander enters the Magic Knight Rayearth story line in the second installment (Volume 4 manga) where the three Tokyo girls are summoned to Cephiro once again. At first it seems Eagle is rude and rash but polite creating an odd character. It isn't until we learn of Autozam from the Princesses of Chizeta and Lady Aska of Fahren why Eagle is so determined. Even later (much later) we learn from Geo's snooping the other reason Eagle decided to invade. Eagle is simply a gentlemen with a great fighting ability and complete drool worthiness. (XD) He is dedicated to his friends and often thinks of others leaving his own personal problems on halt. He has a strong friendship with Cal Lantis often muttering his apologizes for invading Cephiro to Lantis under his breath. He keeps his problems to himself shielding Geo and Zazu from worrying about him and in Volume 6 of the manga urges Hikaru to leave him behind or they will both be killed. (The same thing happens in the anime only he is left to die. >P) Lantis often comments that Hikaru's eyes resemble Eagle's- they're both determined to set out and complete their mission but filled with grief. In the anime and the manga, Eagle invades Cephiro after befriending Lantis and learning of the Pillar system plaguing Lantis's home. Soon after Lantis departs for Cephiro (Emeraude and Zagato are dead at this point) Eagle follows after him. Eagle's sole purpose is to become the Pillar and attain the Pillar System so he can give his people a beautiful and livable world like Cephiro once was before Princess Emeraude died. Zazu and Geo accompany Eagle on his journey- neither quite sure why Eagle is going against Lantis's wishes. When piloting the FTO, Eagle is a deadly opponent. Eagle states that only one person has managed to damage the FTO when Hikaru blasted him with lightening in the Anime. In the manga- it is Lantis who breaks the fight with Hikaru and Eagle using his lightening attack (he is the one who damaged the FTO before). Eagle successfully knocks out the other invading countries roads (manga) and proves that his heart is incredibly strong. In the final volume of Magic Knight Rayearth and the final episodes- Eagle and Hikaru are put against each other for position of the Pillar. The creator of Cephiro (Mokona) ships Eagle and Hikaru off to a frozen Tokyo where the two must battle until only one is left. It is here Eagle tries to persuade Hikaru to leave him and tells his deep secret. In Autozam, everything is controlled by the power of the mind. Eagle had used up too much of his mental energy and was expected to be in a comma long before he came to Cephiro. Hikaru refuses to leave him behind convincing him that if she left him everyone would be torn. With the help of Umi and Fuu, Hikaru and Eagle are brought back to the safety of Cephiro in the arms of a combined spirit- Rayearth. In the manga; Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu visit Cephiro often and learn that Eagle is slowly heading towards recovery. In the anime (*grumbles*) Eagle and Hikaru compromise for the good of Cephiro and Autozam depending on who becomes the pillar (earlier they had run into the heavily guarded room holding the object that determines the new Pillar. It threw them both out but left them alive acknowledging one of them as the new Pillar.). By doing so, Eagle does everything to keep the Magic Knights alive. He ends up recieving his one true wish- to die in battle. *sobs* In the OAV (original animation video) titled Rayearth, every thing is basically screwed up according to the original story line. Eagle has now become Emeruade's brother; both are spirits in the land of Cephiro. Zagato and Emeraude fall in love (and like the original Magic Knight Rayearth) their love is forbidden and Cephiro becomes forsaken. Zagato kills himself hoping to restore peace and Eagle locks Emeraude into her own little dream world where Zagato is still alive. Eagle proceeds after the Magic Knights and tries to destroy them along with Earth and every thing with it. Eagle's voice is given by the same talented woman (Megumi Ogata) who plays Haruka Tenou (aka Sailor Uranus) in Sailor Moon. Ironicly, Megumi is alos the voice of Princess Emeraude. Despite the great quality...HE SOUNDS TOO MUCH LIKE A GIRL! (*dies*) Even Zazu's voice is deeper than his and Zazu is 16. (>P!!!!) In the manga Eagle has more of a feather white hair and striking golden eyes. In the anime (top picture) he has more of a straw colored hair and medium brown eyes. In the OAV (bottom picture) Eagle sports more of a white haired look and either gold or blue eyes (*can't remember* ^^;;).
