Nathanial Hardy walked silently down the halls of some arena his father would be competing in some time later. Just as he was about to head back for his father and Uncle Matt's locker room he heard something that made him hiss. "Stupid Americans... they don't understand how the world hates them." a faintly accented voice said from a locker room to his right. Nathanial walked closer to look into the room. Lance and William were standing there looking so superior. Well, he would just show them. Nathanial thought to himself as he watched the two foreigners leave. He just didn't understand how his father's foreign friends, Jay and Adam, could be so nice and these two could be such... such... assholes! Nathanial grinned to himself as he spotted their precious flags laying on a bench. With a quick jump Nathanial knocked the flags to the floor and landed on top of them. With a merry sounding hummed version of the national anthem, Nathanial started clawing the flags to pieces. ****** "Nathanial!" Jeff called as he looked around the locker room for the second time, worried at what this cat was into this time. A polite little mew from the door alerted him to the position of his cat. Jeff pulled the door open to reveal a very angry Lance Storm holding a smug Nathanial. "What's he done this time?" "This cat just tore up the flags William and I carry." Lance thrust the cat into Jeff's hands and glared at him for a moment. "I'm sorry. He didn't scratch you too much did he?" Jeff asked trying not to laugh at the numerous scratches across Lance's face and arms. "Not that much." Lance turned on his heels and walked away. "Nathanial, that wasn't very nice, you know that right?" Jeff said walking over to sit and cuddle his kitten. Nathanial, knowing the power of his innocent gaze turned his eyes up to his father and gave him a sad look. "Don't think that works on me... Remember, I use the same look on Matt." Jeff told Nathanial and the cat just huffed before jumping off his father's lap. "I know... It only works because I let it." Matt said from where he had positioned himself behind Jeff. Jeff jumped and let out a little shriek before turning to slap Matt on the arm. "That wasn't very nice." Jeff pouted and turned to go gather his things so that he and Nathanial could go back to the hotel. "Jeff... Jeff!" Matt tried to get his attention to apologize only to have Jeff ignoring him. Nathanial watched wondering what was wrong as his father picked him up and carried him away as his Uncle Matt followed trying to get his dad's attention. ****** Nathanial curled up beside his dad as he flicked through the channels of the glowing box. Something was wrong. His father and his Uncle Matt had been acting so weird around each other. He just couldn't understand what they were being so weird. A knock on the door startled Jeff into almost throwing Nathanial from his comfy bed. "Jeff?" It was his Uncle Matt. Maybe they would get what ever it was worked out tonight. This was getting old. Nathanial jumped up and waited for his father to go get the door. Only Jeff didn't move he only cried and curled in on himself. Okay, now Nathanial was freaked out. He jumped down and ran to the door and started scratching furiously while meowing loudly hoping his Uncle would get in there and help his father quickly. Matt heard Nathanial going crazy scratching on the door and he decided that he was going to just use his key card. He had wanted to knock so that he would upset his brother any more. It had started out all simple. They had one of their best tag team matches and he had pressed a kiss to Jeff's forehead on the way to the back. Once in the back as they were walking to the locker Jeff had pressed the softest kiss to Matt's lips and for a moment Matt almost returned it. But then he remembered who they were and where they were and stopped his little brother. They had parted ways for a short time as Jeff looked for Nathanial and Matt went to talk to Shane. Then Matt had snuck up on Jeff and surprised him. Jeff had yelled and walked away ignoring him. Matt pushed the door open to find Jeff crying into a pillow and Nathanial rubbed against his legs then ran over to the bed waiting for Matt to do something. The dark haired Hardy walked over and sat beside his brother for a moment then pulled a resisting Jeff onto his lap. "I'm sorry Jeffy..." Matt murmured into his head as he rocked them. "You don't mean it... I know you don't." Jeff protested as his tears turned to sobs. "Of course I do Jeffy... I love you." Matt had tried to fight his feeling before, but not when it was going to tear him and Jeff apart. Jeff looked up into his eyes and blinked as he drew a shuttering breath. "You do?" "You know I do. You know we've never been normal brothers." Matt told him softly with a gentle smile. Jeff's tears dried and a bright smile took their place. "I love you too." Jeff started pressing hurried kisses over Matt's face only to stop when he yawned. "Sorry." "That's okay. Why don't we take a nap?" Matt's eyes held a bright love light and Jeff couldn't help but agree. And neither could Nathanial. The cat jumped onto the shirt his Uncle Matt had dropped off the bed as the humans made themselves comfortable. He turned a couple of circles before laying down and settling to a nice nap. **** Nathanial awoke to an unfamiliar sound and yawned as he stretched, ready to figure out what it was. He jumped agilely to the end of the bed, only to stop and stare in shock. What was his Uncle Matt doing to his father? |
