This jeep is equipped with the full winterkit: wintertop, doors and sidecurtains in the original WWII pattern (note small windows). On some WWII pics appears a small hole, covered with a flap under the left-side window. This was for handing over documents etc. without having to open the door. All pics courtesy of CanvasCo.
The same kit, but it has larger windows for a clear reason. It too looks very nice, and this one has the flap-covered hole (under the small door-window). This kit is the most seen on restored WWII jeeps, although not of original WWII design.
This jeep has the summertop and half-doors fitted. Although looking somewhat useless, they effectively keep the draft from the legs and lower body.
This jeep is fitted with a summertop. It is thinner than a wintertop and has no flaps to attach doors etc. I can tell you from experience it will only keep out the rain effectively when the vehicle is not moving and the rain is falling in an exact 90 degree angle.
