| In 1942 the military started experiments with halftrack-jeeps, mainly for use as rescuevehicle in snowy areas. All sorts of systems were tried, but the final model was the Allis-Chalmers M7 (T26E4), which used a lot of standard 1/4 ton parts, including the complete engine and gearbox assembly. It was used next to the Studebaker M28 "Weasel". |
