Identification: Willys CJ2A
This is a Willys CJ2A. This was the first Civilian Jeep and first appeared even before the end of WW2; this first version was the CJ2 (also known as Agri-jeep), with some minor differences in construction from the standard CJ2A. Many components are identical to the MB/GPW jeep. It was built from 1945 till 1949, and license-built in India by Mahindra in the 1960's. Some key features:

- same windshield as MB/GPW;
- grill with 7 slots;
- headlights before grill;
- tail-gate;
- sparewheel fitted at the right side of the body;
- tankfillergap in left side of body;
- Willys stamped in sides of hood and on the windshield;
- same model engine as MB (with some minor differences);
- casting number on enginehead: 640161 (also used by late production MB's)
- casting number on engineblock: 641145

Note: most WW2 surplus jeeps that went to private hands were often more or less modified to resemble this model of Civilian Jeep, so make a carefull check. For more info about this model
