Inward Prayer
Inward prayer is a practical part of christianity in which the prayer is a more focused and repetitious action there are different ways to go about it but each one in essence is the same basic desire to infuse ones spirit more with god I myself have only begun the practical side of the expieirence however the holy transfigurations link on my homepage or a search engine query may help what I am offeing here is a beginners guide to start with with basic and the basic and fundamental understanding of it as well as my own interpretation however it is not the most comprehensive guide available. If you wish to know more about inward prayer and are serious about its practice I recommend you seek a priest and/or comprehenshive study of its working there are many books on the subject mainly christian orthodox however most christian interpretations offer some variation or teaching into the matter.

Inward prayer as a concept is hard to explain to the devotee christian it is an ideal way to reaffirm ones spirit to god and offers truly miraculous benifits if practiced. Inward prayer is the repetition of sacred words over and over it takes time to master however with effort becomes more and more subconscious until it becomes a subconsciouss act there are many recommended prayers or just select verses from the bible people choose to say note (if saying verse or quote from bible be sure you understand in detail what it means or it could lead to illusion

Now for the how to then I will explain a little more on hints and the power of inward prayer

The basic necessity for the commencing of inward prayer 1st is recommended to move yor consciousness closer to your heart what this means is a link is established this removes the duality within you for example you could say one thing with your heart and know deep down in your heart you dont believe it so by doing this combined excercise you can begin to attain a more continual flow of thought without duality or contridiction within your own self whilst contemplating and communing with god.

To attain this you must observe and attain three conditions to remove attatchment

1) You must be free from all cares and worldly attatchments not only that which is vain such as things that anger you but 'good things' such as money and the necessity of material consumption or possessions as a fufilling need for joy for this in its essence is greed

2) You must be free of all passionate attatchments in the world such as those of lust and even that of love of your family it can still exist however to seek the love of god is to seek the love of life an all encompassing feeling of just being so that every step you take in the world is somewhat like perfection and denotes great joy to be in his presence for he is in everything and love of things is a smaller part of the divine love which encompasses all things

3) Your consciousness should be pure and not denote or wish for anything less then the love of god

When reading the above three conditions I thought to myself how is this possible it could take me months to master but upon meditating on it I found a pure love of god and came to the realisation that by bond with god my love of god and his of me, the power of the feeling in its self of divine qualities should make me want to do this and I drove myself to observe these three conditions whilst also observing the teachings of the 4 cognitions of zen but this is not for everyone you must find your own way but ultimately your love of god should want you to have pure consciousness or true mind to be with god

It can also be attianed by not just the se of strong will but the medative practice as follows close the door in a room of your house and turn off the light sit in a quiet and comfortable place and make your mind pure

To purify my mind I simply breathed slowly and deeply and constantly counting one.....
Paused for a moment......
Then exhaled slowly and constantly counting two focusing on my breathe.....

Once your mind is pure sit and bow your head to your heart and just observe not your mind your heart and your breathing simply keep your mind there it may cause initial discomfort however continued practice will eventually bring comfort and joy which will lead to unceasing joy and will give you somewhat a transformative glimpse into yourself this joy however brings imbalance as you say things in the world that are small minded, of vanity and ego or unholy you will ache with anger do not dispare this is your true self becoming angry over the fact deamons occupy your mind remain true and ask for gods help and the deamons will be cast from you slowly but surely one is never free of deamons unless enlightened at all times a hard state to attain however we can be aware of our sins repent and then merely continue

Once this comfort and joy becomes powerful and is attained more consistently without the use of the medatitive excercise  then you have put the fire of christ into your soul then you are ready to begin inner prayer simply close your eyes as you did and listen to your heart beat as it does say these words
" Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me!"

To speak these words is the acknowlegement that jesus christ is your lord and saviour and you as a devotee christian or another have humbled yourself to his ways and teachings and thus ask for his love and compassion

There are many ways to go about inner prayer with set numbers per day to start I myself think these to be a rough guideline to really just to get you to count count how many you can do the first day lets say 200 try double that in 3 days to 400 then try for 800 in the next three days then try a thousand and once you feel your ready merely say it unceasingly wheather it be out loud or in your mind matters little for you have in yourself called to christ.

For those who follow the christian way, inner prayer can lead to salvation simply consider this as the application of the gospels in your everyday life in it lies unceasing joy and happiness which is reaffirming your relationship with god in every waking moment and thus done properly and earnestly with continued church worship and daily prayer could bring enlightenment and the realization of the full potential as a son/daughter of god if not that a more loving relation with god
