I didn't know that there were two versions of Earth Shaker until I saw the "old" version on the internet. The game is exactly the same, apart from the loading screen above and the main character is different. The old version was the one that Michael Batty first sent off to a number of software companies, only to have it rejected each time. It wasn't because of the quality of the game (obviously) but First Star, who made Boulder Dash were apparently making legal threats at the time against people publishing Boulder Dash clones. Eventually Your Sinclair published it as a cover tape in March 1991.
