Excellent overview of the life history cycle, and biology of crayfish. The video features several different North American species, and includes underwater footage of the rare and elusive Ozark cave crayfish, (Cambarus aculabrum), a federally endangered species.  Footage also includes various types of habitat, underwater shots of females in berry, females carrying their young, the molting process, aggressive behavior, mating, and crayfish in the role of both predator and prey.

The socioeconomic importance of crayfish is also addressed, and includes footage of commercial farming, harvesting, and processing.  There are interviews with renowned experts, including Jay Huner with the University of SW Louisiana, Bob DiStefano with the Missouri Department Of Conservation, Charles Rabeni with the Missouri Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research Unit, University of Missouri, and Jim Johnson with the Arkansas Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research Unit, University of Arkansas.
