The Spiritual Journey
The balanced individual spiritual direction is the single biggest loss to humankind. There are a lot of us not free, mentally or emotionally to choose the spiritual path that best suits our needs. Censorship often cuts off any opportunity for a person to investigate other spiritual ideas. The problem with censorship is that once it is given a foot in the door, every spiritual idea will eventually fall under its axe.
We have one major flaw that seems to be worldwide, we are always seeking for answers, especially to spiritual questions, outside of ourselves. We are always looking for an undefined something in others, organizations, work, drugs, alcohol, etc. A great many of us, at least in the beginning, are afraid of stillness and silence, the great Void of the Goddess that can only be reached through the dark labyrinth of the subconscious and collective unconscious minds. As the Charge of the Goddess says "If you do not find Me within, you will not find Me without. For I was there in the beginning, and I will gather you to My breast at the end of all things."
Communication is the secret, the connection that is the thread that binds us to the Great Mother. It is up to each of us to find and nourish it. The Goddess has provided the eternal link, we must be the ones to open the channel and listen to Her words of guidance and wisdom. This listening and its benefits is not solely a woman thing. Men also need to reconnect with the Goddess.
The Goddess is the Divine Center of all. With great patience She awaits the return of Her children, Her divine creations. Seeking within, striving to find the way through the inner maze, is the only path back to Her. Each of us must make the journey alone, following Her voice through the maze, standing in Her light, each sees ourselves reflected in Her mirrors of truth and realizes that we have never been alone.
Because of this instinctive seeking, many people are beginning to learn new ways of relating to each other. They feel that each person, regardless of race, sex, lifestyle, preferences or religion is important and holds a spark of divinity. These are the people who listen to their creative subconscious, they are the dreamers of the future, the designers of new ideas, the messengers for peace.
What should we expect by acknowledging the Goddess? A balance between Goddess and God is a necessity. The Great Mother was never without Her consort after the first creation. "As above, so below, and As within, as without" are more than overblown statements. The balance between Goddess and God, female and male is needed. A respect for the Goddess in all Her creations and forms will be reflected in how we treat each other and this Earth.
Recognizing the ever present Goddess benefits everyone, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It takes away nothing. It creates a healthier, happier atmosphere in which to live. It is up to each of us. Acknowledging the Goddess must be an internal, intensely personal, individual experience, which will ripple outward to affect and revitalize this world and humankind. The only changes we can definitely make and control are within ourselves, one individual at a time.
The benefits are endless.
