| MORE ABOUT THAI BODYWORK Thai Medical massage is an Ayurvedic based therapy that combines yoga from India, acupressure of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Buddhist meditation from Tibet. This traditional healing system of Thailand is more of a medical treatment then a massage. An intimate and dynamic approach helps to create the four boundless states of body/mind/spirit; Loving kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity. Its uniqueness is specifying treatment to the individual and understanding and applying what works best. It's like no other massage you've ever experienced. Relaxation deepens as a flow of different positions are used to unveil altered states of consciousness and open and free blockages. Loose comfortable clothing should be worn as no oils are used. Muscles are stretched, pressure is rhythmically applied to Sen (energy) lines along your body with the palms of the hands and feet, thumbs, elbows, etc. using the whole body to relieve deep and superficial tension while stimulating energy flow throughout the body. Gentle rocking, rhythmic compression and passive yoga poses are characteristic of the manual techniques used. Excellent in preventing disease and treating illness, Buddhist monks in Thailand have practiced massage for thousands of years. Some characteristics and benefits are: Enhances your Yoga or fitness practice Emotional calming and deep relaxation Toning of internal organs Relaxes and loosens tight muscles, reduces pain and swelling Treats the whole person Evaluation and Therapy combined Resolution of karmic blockages in the physical and subtle bodies Appropriate for all ages and much more... |
