Defining Philosophy has proved to be one of the biggest and most daunting tasks of Philosophers. Philosophy helps to answer questions on how a human being should live, what is out there in the world, the truth of nature, and logic.

Philosophy is divided into different branches, all possessing different views about life and nature. Philosophy by region can be divided into western and eastern, both containing there own unique branches.

Philosophy over time has also changed, more so in the west then the east. The west has had many major phases of philosophy, such as the Socratic Method, skepticism, idealism, pragmatism, and phenomenology.

Eastern philosophy is again divided by region into Babylonian, Chinese, Indian, and Persian philosophy. Philosophy, with its indefinite subject matters, has challenged the human mind for thousands of years.
