Shadows in the twilight
beneath the eerie mist
A darkness covering the soul
that's filled with emptiness ~
Draped in shrouds of silence
within the soul does stir
A heart in true confession
revealed without a word.
Humbled by the grandeur
embracing the stillness
Reflections of a moment
a strive for happiness ~
All which counts for nothing
but yet within the eye
Of He who had been without sin
we seek Eternal Life.
Tears and shame long buried
within a sinner's heart
Going through the motions
but yet still in the dark ~
Wanting, waiting, watching
for something to reveal
The reason for the suffering
that seems to go on still.
Alas, the very heartache
tainting now the souls
Lost amidst confusion
no longer in control ~
A dawn of understanding
reflects now in the heart
What was a wayward journey
is a light within the dark.
Brought to a new beginning
the point of brokenness
Tears shed in the silence
till there is nothing left ~
Then in true repentance
confessing now the words
At the foot of graciousness
where every sin is heard.
Perfection is a fallacy
for man could never be
That for which he's striving
until Eternity ~
For he must flee the mindset
and come before the Cross
A humble heart repentant
that seeks forgiveness.
Shadows in the twilight
form a silhouette
Confessions of the people
their lives filled with regret ~
Tears are wept in sorrow
but joy is never lost
For grace saves every sinner
at the foot of the Cross.
