Notes: Wiley moved west with several family members in the early 1870's. They were involved in a feud with the William "Bill" Strong family in Breathitt County and Perry County, Kentucky. The feud began right after the Civil War and lasted until the early 70's. After the death of a couple of Wiley's sons, he moved along with some family members to Kansas. (John Paul Amis)

Note: Mr. Larkin Murrell, of Terrels Creek, died at his home on the 19th inst. Some very peculiar circumstances attended his death. A few days before he was taken sick he took his wife and daughter to a point, where he wished to be buried measured the ground for the grave with some precision, remarking at the same time that he would live but a few days. However meaningless his words may appear to the incredulous they were true and the preferred spot of earth now hold his remains. [Mtn.
